Les syndromes gériatriques sont des situations cliniques particulières se caractérisant par une fréquence accrue chez les sujets âgés, une origine multiple, une conséquence entraînant souvent une perte d’autonomie et une prise en charge multifactorielle et pluridisciplinaire. Au sein de cette équipe, le pharmacien de par ses compétences a un rôle à jouer.

Medicine-related problems (MRPs) represent a major issue leading to hospitalization, especially in adult and elderly patients. The aims of this review are to investigate the prevalence, causes and major risk factors for MRPs leading to hospitalization in adult patients and to identify the main medicine classes involved.

The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of potentially inappropriate medication (PIM) in the elderly as indicated by Germany’s recently published list (PRISCUS) and to assess factors independently associated with PIM prescribing, both overall and separately for therapeutic groups.
